I thought I would start the work on the Bluetooth DUN since USB DUN is enabled. There have been a few threads started and ended with too many people making requests to get this to work and not enough brainstorming and effort.
To help us out, please do not post here if you want to tell us you want this, or to mention that you want us to hurry. If files are posted here that people working on this need, I will make every effort to also post them in this first post. I will also make every effort to keep the progress listed here, so that you know what is going on by reading this post, just refer to the updates section here, and to the downloads section.

Determined that the Bluetooth stack has had the files actually removed. Seems btmodem.dll is the missing file.
We need to obtain a complete MS Bluetooth Stack either from an uncomprimised i730, or another device with a complete MS Bluetooth stack that we can take the file. It seems that both the i-mate JAM and the ETEN M500 use the MS Bluetooth stack, so if you are able to get access to these devices, please copy all files with bt at the beginning and zip them, either post them here, or PM me and I will provide my e-mail address to send them to.

I have spent the entire day reading on the MSDN library about Bluetooth and how it is setup on Win CE devices.
I have been examing the registry on our devices and have determined the stucture for the Bluetooth modem is available, but none of the registry keys are in place.
I have yet to find out if the correct Bluetooth files are in place, but I thought I would at least start with the registry keys, and see if this is all Verizon did to disable it.
You can configure the modem gateway through the registry. Registry settings for the modem gateway are located under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Modemgw
The following two registry keys are required and I will be soon posting a list of keys that are options. Each key is listed with the type of key that it needs to be, and the description is below it:
ModemPortName : REG_SZ
-----------------------------------
Specifies the existing COM port for the modem.
BthPortName : REG_SZ
-----------------------------------
Specifies the Bluetooth COM port that will be created by the service; this COM port need not be present in the system.

Would a ROM from the one which was posted here a while back from the Samsung store on Columbus Circle be of any help? Let me know, as I have a copy I could forward to you.
Only if it is for sure know if that ROM had the ability to do Bluetooth DUN. If so, please PM the link to the file and I will post the link under the downloads section.

Can someone with a xv6600 please post the registry keys and values listed under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Modemgw
I want to see if any files are called and what exact keys it has.

This is listed as the second key in the Bluetooth\Services directory on the i730

Why don't you list the information from ExtModems.
The i730 has:
\hklm\ExtModems\bluetooth_dun
with keys:
DeviceType:7 (REG_DWORD)
FriendlyName:Bluetooth (REG_SZ)
port:BSP9: (REG_SZ)

In PHM Regsitry Editor click, hold-tap on the "My Device" at the top, and click export. Save the file, and PM it to me.

I also wanted to ask if anyone knows what Bluetooth stack the xv6600 is using?
Just curious if it is using the same Microsoft stack or a different one. I don't want to take the time messing with any files from the xv6600 if it is a different stack.

That I thought was the crux of the whole thing. The XV6600 is using the Widcomm/Broadcomm stack. I'm personally using the 3500 version. So I don't think we are using the same stack. You just started asking for XV registry info so I oblidged. I thought you had an idea of it being a registry problem vs a stack problem.
With everything I read today about bluetooth and coding for the stack, I believe that it's something that has been cut out of the registry and is not being enabled as the i730 boots. I thought the 6600 used the same stack, which is why the registry keys didn't line up correctly.
I will continue to look up more info on Microsoft's stack and see if I can determine if at least the files are located on the i730.
One of the builds of the stack that I read about used just a couple of files for all the profiles and it looks like the registry is used to make the calls and get each of the profiles loaded. And yet another version split the information out so that the files could be upgraded easier to newer versions.
Back to the drawing board I go instead of comparing it to the 6600.

Anyone know of someone with an I-Mate JAM that we could get a copy of the Registry? This will be the easiest way to compare the settings.
And if they don't want it posted, I will make sure that I will be the only one to have the registry backup, and will only release it to someone else with specific permission. I am only interested in getting this to work, not taking someone's personal information. But I also understand if they don't want to release a copy of the registry. One way around it, would be for them to backup their device, hard reset it, load a regsitry program like PHM, dump it to a *.reg file, then they could restore their device with their backup.
I have been doing a TON of registry changes, and have had to hard reset my device about 10 times now. A registry backup of a device with the Microsoft Stack, and working Bluetooth DUN, would be most helpful. (Hopefully Verizon didn't kill the needed files for Bluetooth DUN, and just disabled it in the regsitry).

So much so this thread might not benefit as many people as USB modem thread, can moderators please add sticky to this one. It will be sweet if we can have bluetooth DUN.
