a) low volume
b) static
c) not being able to use Voice Command through the headset
d) all the other BT problems w/ the SX66
Has anyone tried using something like the Jabra A210 (I know the SX66 has a special plug, but I have an adapter) and pairing that with a headset and seeing if
a) You could then use Voice Command
b) The connection was better?
I hate not being able to use a BT headset with something I paid so much for.
Well, I tried it. Found out I did NOT need the adapter for the plug after all, despite the fact that I keep reading the adapter is non-standard.
It works ... mostly. I can easily use it to dial by saying "Call Name" ... that works great. But when I try to say "Dial 123-1234" for some reason it has issues.
Based on the Voice Command manual, I figured it was too close to my mouth, so I removed the headset from my ear, and held it away. Still had some problems with some numbers being recognized. But since most of my calls are of the "Call Name" type, it's not a big deal.
No static. Sound is MUCH better than with the built-in Bluetooth.
HS820: works great
HS850: fairly loud echo, does not recognize speech as well
Msanto, I experienced the same issue with Voice command. I guess, maybe I'm wrong, that it is due to the fact I use French version of VC since I live in Belgium. For instance, VC does not recognise "call 1933" (my voice mail") since in France there is no phone number like NNNN...

Your mileage may vary.
Bluetooth audio quality is 8kHz 8bit. Voice Command works best with 16kHz 16 bit audio. Digit dialing is inherently more complex than contact dialing, and will generally not work well over a bluetooth headset connection. Your best bet is to create a contact card for any number that you would digit dial and use the contact dialing.
